A complete re-factoring of the front-end site architecture
A large, crosssite initiative aimed at solving many large problems (user-experience, ads/revenue, and page-load speed) - with a initial focus on mobile. This originally launched on SFGate.com mobile site in 2017.
The aim is to impact the typical Mobile reader on a 4G connection by aggressively reducing page-load time, optimizing the ad experience, and setting a foundation so we could easily re-work any part of the page based on feedback, AB testing, or other product requests.
This project represented our first pass and had a significant impact in overall load time (both real and perceptual).
